Teaching with Love & Logic

From Universal Literacy Coach, Linda Bean: One of the most inspiring books I read this summer was “Teaching with Love and Logic” (pdf version). It is designed to provide as a guide as you attempt to solve the vast spectrum of behaviors that confront you in your classrooms. It is not a system designed to replace the system you already have in place. The best advice I can offer is to build a genuine relationship with each one of your students, empower them to develop an internalized sense of control and have a set of principles, based on your core beliefs as your foundation.

If you have time read part four- Classroom Solutions starting on page 212. It’s everything to put a stop to disruptive behavior. It even has the “evil eye” approach.
